What's Growing?
(and a little announcement!)
Hello Dear Readers,
Some thunderstorms have rolled through in the past 24 hours and I find myself feeling relieved, refreshed, and renewed. (Hopefully if you’ve been getting storms, it’s been a nice, soaking rain and not anything too intense! As a Vermonter, I completely understand the anxiety storms can bring on due to flooding.) We’re hitting that time of year my good friend calls “deep summer” and it’s felt like everything has needed a little reset. My garden is certainly happy about the rain. You can almost hear the plants get giddy with excitement as the rain comes. I’m not going to lie, I get a little giddy too. Especially for a rainy afternoon. It’s a chance to slow down, to cozy up with a mug of tea, and to reflect.
We’re six months into this year and this particular Full Moon is exceptionally bright. Combined with some incredible celestial happenings right now, we have an opportunity to pause, to plan, and then move forward with this light. What has changed for you since the beginning of the year? What intentions are you setting for the rest of this calendar year? More on this for myself in a moment.
I’m finding that a lot of life can be compared to gardening. If the weeds seem out of control, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the whole mess. But if I focus on a small section and tend to it with care, the overwhelm seems to dissipate and I can even find joy in rooting out what needs to go. And as I do that, the plants that remain seem to be even more vibrant and beautiful. But small, meaningful changes can make a big impact. So when it all feels like too much, and I don’t just mean in the garden, I remember to focus on that one thing right in front of me, and from there, I can move forward.

Where am I going with this, you ask? Sometimes we are required to really shake things up! But sometimes, the most impactful thing we can do for ourselves and our loved ones is to slow down, to focus on daily rituals, and to tend to what is right at our feet. For me, right now, I am so excited to share with you some ways to help you slow down, build pauses into your days, help your friends and loved ones rest better, and to you some offer herbal support.
One of my intentions for this year was to finally and fully launch my herbal website. I’m very honored to share that the time has come. The website is live and I cannot wait for you to take a look! You’ll find daily teas and sleep support, with more offerings being added in the coming days. As an herbalist, I want to offer lovingly crafted remedies that help you to live a more vibrant life. I hope you enjoy what Chickadee Herbal has for you and I hope you’ll reach out with any questions. I’m always happy to chat with you!
More to come soon! I’ve been working on some delicious recipes and also putting together some plant monographs for this space. (Think deep dive on one plant/herb at a time.) I’d love to hear from you! Is there a particular plant you’d like to learn more about? Recipes to include an herb you love? Let me know! I appreciate all of you so much and I am so glad we can come together in this space. Thank you for being here. Sending you all much love!
